"The chief weapon in the quiver of all Islamist expansionist movements, is the absolute necessity to keep victims largely unaware of the actual theology plotting their demise. To complete this deception, a large body of ‘moderates’ continue to spew such ridiculous claims as “Islam means Peace” thereby keeping non-Muslims from actually reading the Qur’an, the Sira, the Hadith, or actually looking into the past 1400 years of history. Islamists also deny or dismiss the concept of ‘abrogation’, which is the universal intra-Islamic method of replacing slightly more tolerable aspects of the religion in favor of more violent demands for Muslims to slay and subdue infidels"

Labor Green Loon VOTE People “Those who oppose the Khilafah should be crucified.”

Australian terrorists Khaled Sharrouf and Mohamed Elomar share extremist views supporting ISIS through Twitter

James Law
The Daily Telegraph
July 8 2014

“BY THE will of Allah, heads will be removed.”

“Can’t wait to see an Australian soldier crying.”

“Those who oppose the Khilafah should be crucified.”

These are just some of the chilling comments made by two Australian men who have joined the Islamic State (ISIS) fundamentalist uprising in Syria and Iraq.

Former Sydney residents Khaled Sharrouf and Mohamed Elomar have joined the ISIS movement in the Middle East, and they are using the megaphone of social media to spread jihadist statements and take on their detractors.

They have both been prolific since joining Twitter a few months ago, sharing death threats and shockingly violent images.

Convicted terrorist Sharrouf was born in Australia and lived in Sydney’s west until he fled the country on his brother Mustafa’s passport in December.

He spent time in jail for his part the in a foiled “Terror Nine” plot to blow up targets in Sydney and Melbourne.

He is now believed to be in Syria, where he has joined the Sunni revolt and has proudly tweeted photos of himself with machine guns and military vehicles.

On Saturday, he delivered a plea for others to join the extremist movement, tweeting “come and be part of what we have dreamt For for decades” (sic).

His first tweet when he joined in May was of a little boy holding a machinegun.

He also tweeted a shockingly violent photograph of a man whose head had been blown away.

Elomar, a boxer, has also joined the fighting in the Middle East and he has been very busy on Twitter despite only joining in April. He has used the site to spout hateful anti-democracy rhetoric, tweeting as many as 11 times yesterday alone.

Detractors around the world have taken to Twitter to challenge the men’s comments.

In response to one Australian detractor over Twitter, Elomar said burning his Australian passport was the best day of his life.

Australian police and security agencies are aware of the two men and they will not be permitted back into the country should they attempt to return.

Security sources told The Daily Telegraph last month that they were concerned Sharrouf was using social media to “whip up” radical sentiments back in Australia.

The military situation in Iraq remains perilous, with hopes of regaining control of nearly half the country from Sunni extremists suffering dual setbacks yesterday.

The Iraqi Parliament failed to form a new government and insurgents killed a top military officer who was leading the defence of Baghdad’s western suburbs.

The uprising represents the biggest threat to the country’s survival since US troops invaded in 2003.

Sharrouf and Elomar are among  as many as 300 young Australians who have left for the Middle East with hopes of joining the battles  according to sources close to families and communities in western Sydney.

Here are some more of the most worrying posts on Elomar’s Twitter:

And these are some of Sharrouf’s other shocking comments:

Khilafah has the same meaning as caliphate, which refers to the sovereign state the IS revolutionaries claim to have established in Syria and Iraq, under Sharia law.

Muslim Spin Doctors swing into gear, Good Muslim / Bad Muslim routine under way in Australia

Australian Islamic leaders call for an end to hatred and provocation, claim radical group Hizb ut-Tahrir is tarnishing religion’s reputations

Andrew Carswell and Geoff Chambers
The Daily Telegraph
June 27,2014

AUSTRALIA’S Islamic leaders have demanded radical group Hizb ut-Tahrir stop voicing its vile sermons in public, hate-filled messages which they claim are tarnishing the entire Muslim community.

The stinging rebuke comes as the religion’s leaders prepare to intervene in the activist group in a last-ditch attempt to calm its members’ aggressive and scandalous approach and curb its fundamentalism.

RADIO OUTBURST AN INSULT TO ISLAM

GOVERNMENT CAN’T ACT ON RADICAL GROUP

CRACKDOWN ON FORCED MARRIAGES IN AUSTRALIA

For years Australia’s often divided coterie of imams have been loathe to publicly scold Hizb ut-Tahrir’s tiny but vocal members, shaking their heads in private but preferring to preach freedom of expression.

Now the religion’s chief authority — the Australian National Imams Council — has had enough.

The stance follows The Daily Telegraph’s revelations Hizb ut-Tahrir’s spokesman Uthman Badar was stopped from giving a speech at the Sydney Opera House that debated the moral justification of honour killing, while the group was also found to have sickening views that men could “morally’’ marry pre-teen girls and that the US and Australia were terrorist nations for invading Iraq and Afghanistan.

“They send the wrong message about Islam and they should refrain and have better judgment about preaching a message of inflammatory nature,’’ said Imam Mohammadu Nawas, a spokesman for both the ANIC and the Grand Mufti of Australia, Dr Ibrahim Abu Mohammed.

“The vast majority of Muslims in this country do not subscribe to anything what they say. We call on them, and any other organisation making inflammatory statements that can cause upset among the general public, to restrain. We want them to stop.’’

In response to the public condemnation to the group’s abhorrent views, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop issued a veiled threat in Question Time yesterday to any group or organisation that appeared to be supporting terrorism.

“The government will shortly introduce new legislation giving our security agencies greater powers to counter the terrorist threat. The government will not hesitate to take strong action against any person or any group that is a threat to our national security,” Ms Bishop said.

Prominent Islamic leader Ameer Ali, former president of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, said all Muslim groups, leaders and mosque preachers should be resoundingly denouncing the views of Hizb ut-Tahrir.

“But I don’t hear it yet. I don’t hear people coming out in sermons denouncing them. They need to do this and be at the forefront of demolishing these ideas,’’ he said.

“Indeed, most Muslims are horrified by what they are saying. So why aren’t the council of Imams stopping them? That’s surprising to me.’’

Muslim community organiser and political aspirant Keysar Trad also denounced the group, saying: “This organisation thrives on controversy and picks topics that will appeal to the disenfranchised.’’

Labor's Socialism's Multiculturalism: Fifth Column War against the Host Judeo Christian Western Democratic Nation

Trojan Horse debate: We were wrong, all cultures are not equal
For years, we all turned a blind eye to the segregation of Muslim pupils. Now it is time to stand up to propagators of barbarism and ignorance

Allison Pearson By Allison Pearson

If I have learnt one thing working with children as a teacher, a volunteer and, more recently, a parent, it’s that what children want above all else is to fit in. The desire not to be different must be hard-wired, so urgent is the need of your average nine-year-old to have the same pencil case as every other nine-year-old. Individuality, much prized in adult life, is abhorred by our conservative juniors, who crave acceptance as the thirsty crave water. “Fitting in” is braided into the DNA of every child, regardless of creed or colour. When the deep, resonant bell of human evolution tolls, it says: “Belong, belong, belong.”

Integrating children into a new society, then, should not present too much of a problem. A football, some Panini World Cup stickers to trade, One Direction, Harry Potter, 97 episodes of Friends, especially the one where Rachel has a baby: common interests for youngsters are not hard to find. So how have we ended up with a situation where so many Muslims are adrift from the mainstream? Why this scandal in Birmingham where five overwhelmingly Muslim schools, some until recently judged to be outstanding, are to be put into special measures because they have sought to inculcate ideas that are repellent to this country?

Let me quote Myriam Francois-Cerrah, a writer and Muslim convert, who told Channel 4 News on Tuesday that she rejected calls by the Prime Minister and Michael Gove, the Education Secretary, for schools to promote British values. “In many ways, the problem is creating a hierarchy of cultures when you say you need to promote British values,” she objected. “What does that say to children in a classroom whose heritage harks from outside the British Isles? It says this country has superior moral values and you are coming from some backward culture whose values you … must not consider equal to our own.”

Funnily enough, that’s exactly what we are saying, Myriam. Spot on! A Muslim girl who winds up in Bolton or Luton should thank her lucky stars she doesn’t live in Sudan – or Pakistan, where, only last month, a woman was stoned to death by her family for the crime of marrying a man of whom they disapproved. Farzana Parveen’s father explained: “I killed my daughter as she had insulted all of our family by marrying a man without our consent, and I have no regret over it.”

Are British values superior to Mr Parveen’s? I do hope so.
Unfortunately, the great lie underpinning the creed of multiculturalism, as spouted by Francois‑Cerrah and her ilk, is that all cultures are “equally valid”. Well, patently, they’re not. The reason irate Pakistani patriarchs are not chucking bricks at their errant daughters in the Birmingham Bull Ring is because Britain has a basically uncorrupt police force, a robust judiciary and an enlightened, hard-won system of liberal values that regards women and girls as equals, not third-class citizens.

But instead of standing up to barbarism and ignorance, too often we have looked away in embarrassment or fear. How many teachers have averted their gaze when 13-year-old Muslim girls suddenly disappear from the classroom to be taken “home” for a forced marriage, because this would present unwelcome evidence that some cultures are less valid than others?

How many health professionals in Bradford are concerned, but never say so, that intermarriage in the Muslim community – 75 per cent of Pakistanis in the city are married to their first cousin – is causing babies to be born blind, deaf and with other disabilities? Back in 2008, when Labour environment minister Phil Woolas said that British Pakistanis were fuelling the rate of birth defects, he was slapped down by Downing Street, with a spokesman for prime minister Gordon Brown saying the issue was not one for ministers to comment on. Government after government has filed this thorny issue in “The Too Difficult Box”, the title of a timely new book edited by former Cabinet minister Charles Clarke.

This was all so predictable. Back in the summer of 1981, I was working in a primary school in west London where the children were dizzy with excitement about Prince Charles and Lady Di. The royal wedding was a great unifying event, but there was one group of pupils who were not allowed to fit in. The little Muslim girls did not wear cool, gingham-checked dresses in the heat like the others. Instead, they were dressed in the winter uniform – a polo neck and tunic worn over strictly non-uniform trousers and thick tights. As far as I could tell, no teacher dared challenge this clear breach of school rules. In a similar spirit, it was accepted that the Muslim girls could not attend the weekly swimming lesson.

When a trip was planned to Hampton Court, the children were told they would be seeing Henry VIII’s bed. Somehow, the word “bed”, coupled with the humongously horny Henry, set off alarm bells among Muslim parents, who withdrew their sons and daughters from the outing. This irrational boycott was tolerated. I remember thinking how awful and sad it was that liberal, white teachers didn’t stick up for the Muslim children’s right to play a full part in the life of their country.

It made me angry when I was practically a child myself, and it makes me even angrier now, 30 years on, thinking of the lost decades when good people did nothing to prevent the toxic situation outlined this week by the chief inspector of schools. Music and dancing banned in a primary school because they are un-Islamic. Muslim pupils not allowed to study Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing because it shows young people falling in love and marrying. A preacher who believes homosexuals should be stoned to death invited to address an assembly – in a British school in a British town, forsooth. Children as young as six told that Western women are “white prostitutes”, if you please.

Sir Michael Wilshaw, the Ofsted chief, said that hardline Islamists wanted to impose a “narrow, faith-based ideology” on schools in Birmingham, though clearly the problem is not confined to one city. Now Bradford, Luton and east London are being investigated.
And still our politicians will not face up to what multiculturalism has unleashed: one of the biggest peacetime challenges ever faced by Britain. Nick Clegg, at his most ineffectually Fotherington-Thomas, says he is “sure that all parents will support a wide curriculum”. As if. The promised “dawn-raid” school inspections, which will not give schools time to stage Christian lessons to fool Ofsted inspectors, are too little, too late.

Growing suggestions that all faith schools should be banned because some Muslims cannot be trusted to prepare their children for life in contemporary society are simply outrageous. Why should Catholic, Jewish and Church of England schools, which provide a terrific, disciplined learning environment for millions of children, be forced to cease their good work and shut down? Why must the tolerant be made to carry the can for the intolerable?

The crisis in Birmingham made me look up Ray Honeyford. The headmaster of a school in Bradford, Honeyford published an article highly critical of multiculturalism around the same time that I was wondering why Muslim girls in west London weren’t allowed to learn how to swim. Honeyford was damned as a racist and forced to take early retirement, but how prophetic his words seem now. The alarmed headmaster referred to a “growing number of Asians whose aim is to preserve as intact as possible the values of the Indian subcontinent within a framework of British social and political privilege”. Honeyford questioned the wisdom of the local education authority in allowing such practices as the withdrawal of children from school for months at a time, in order to go “home” to Pakistan, on the grounds that this was appropriate to the children’s native culture.

“Those of us working in Asian areas,” he wrote, “are encouraged, officially, to 'celebrate linguistic diversity’ – ie, applaud the rapidly mounting linguistic confusion in these growing number of city schools in which British-born Asian children begin their mastery of English by being taught in Urdu.”
Ray Honeyford died in 2012, so he didn’t live to see the Leeds secondary school where every single pupil, including a handful of white ones, is being taught English as a foreign language. He didn’t need to see it. He knew it would happen, and what the cost would be, and his warnings were shouted down or put away in the Too Difficult Box.

I think the battle we must fight now really has very little to do with sincere religious belief. It’s about social control, repression, misogyny and cruelty. The battle is about Kamaljit, a 14-year-old girl I once taught, who chided me when I read the class a story about snakes in India, like the good, clueless multiculturalist that I was. “Please, Miss, we don’t like that stuff,” she said. “We’re English. We like ice skating.”

We have to expose Muslim children to as wide a range of experiences as possible so they will feel the gravitational pull of British values. If a Devon primary school recently criticised by Ofsted for not being multicultural enough (yes, really) can arrange a horizon-broadening trip to the inner city, then surely it’s time that Birmingham and Bradford came to Hereford and Hampshire. It was Rodgers and Hammerstein who observed in South Pacific: “You’ve got to be taught to hate and fear / You’ve got to be taught from year to year / It’s got to be drummed in your dear little ear / You’ve got to be carefully taught. / You’ve got to be taught before it’s too late / Before you are six or seven or eight / To hate all the people your relatives hate / You’ve got to be carefully taught.”
But there is another song, and a better one, and children will learn it if they are only given the chance: Belong, belong, belong.

Sam Ibrahim, Rose Tattoo drummer arrested over alleged gun running

Mark Morrie
The Daily Telegraph
April 1 2014
FORMER bikie boss Sam Ibrahim and drummer for rock band Rose Tattoo, Paul De Marco, have been charged after being arrested as part of investigations into an alleged gun running syndicate.

The pair were swept up in a series of early morning raids today along with Sam’s sister Maha Sayour. Police also seized 13 weapons resulting from the six-month undercover operation in western Sydney.

De Marco, 55, has been charged with 27 counts including supplying a pistol to an unauthorised person, supplying ammunition, supplying a prohibited firearm and supplying a prohibited weapon.

Ibrahim, 45, was charged with four counts related to the supply of a pistol to an unauthorised person, conspiracy to commit an offence – supplying a firearm to an unauthorised person and supplying a prohibited firearm which is subject to a prohibition order.

They have been refused bail and are due to appear at Blacktown Local Court via audio visual link today.
Sayour, 43, was charged with conspiracy to commit offence – supply firearm to person unauthorised to possess.

She has been refused bail and is due to appear at Wollongong Local Court today.

Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.

Ibrahim’s solicitor, Brett Galloway, said his client was unlikely to make a bail application.

”I’ve not yet seen the facts ... these are serious charges and these things need to be given great consideration,’’ Mr Galloway told Fairfax.

Following extensive inquiries, police from North West Metropolitan Region, assisted by specialist units, executed six simultaneous search warrants at Windsor, Greystanes, Londonderry, Castlereagh, St Marys and Warilla, about 6.15am today.

Police allege that during today’s search warrants, investigators located and seized five firearms, various calibres of ammunition, illicit drugs and steroids.

Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.

Police say a total of 18 illegal weapons have been seized during the investigation.

The 18 seized weapons - which included an M1 military assault rifle, shotguns, semi-automatic pistols and bullets - are being examined to see if they were used in any shootings in Sydney over the past three years.

”When you look at some of the guns, you shake your head and wonder what that firepower would do if it got into the wrong hands,’’ Assistant Commissioner Denis Clifford told a press conference.

”This will no doubt put a significant dent in the organised sale of illegal firearms in western Sydney, but we’re sure there’s a lot more out there.’’

He expects more arrests over the alleged syndicate.

The 13 guns bought in October were all purchased in western Sydney, though police believe the sales syndicate also operated in the Illawarra region.

The M1 assault rifle is a military-issued gun and cannot be legally bought by licensed gun owners.

Strike Force Bootle was established by detectives from Penrith Local Area Command in October 2013 to investigate the sale of illegal firearms in Sydney’s west

Australia 100 Days free of Islamic Insurgents arriving illegally by boat,Labor Green Loon's Outraged

The Hon. Tony Abbott MP
Prime Minister
The Hon. Scott Morrison MP
Minister for Immigration and Border Protection

Today marks 100 days since the last successful people smuggling venture to Australia.
The last successful people smuggling venture to Australia occurred on 19 December last year. During the same 100 day period a year ago (20 December 2012 – 29 March 2013), 66 illegal boats carrying 3,879 people arrived.

This is the longest period without a successful venture since before the Howard Government’s strong border protection policies were abandoned by Labor and Kevin Rudd in August 2008.

The Coalition went to the last election with clear policies to stop the boats. We are delivering on our pledge to stop the boats.
The Government has made difficult but necessary decisions to secure our borders and restore what Labor had destroyed. These strong policies are saving lives.
Operation Sovereign Borders is working as intended. We acknowledge the work and dedication of the people and agencies across government in making this happen. They are doing a great service for our nation.

The people smugglers now understand that the way to Australia is closed. We are putting the smugglers out of business.
Under Labor over 800 boats arrived carrying more than 50,000 people, including more than 8,000 children. This catastrophic policy failure resulted in over 1,000 lives lost at sea and $11 billion in Budget blowouts.

The progress we are making in strengthening our borders is restoring confidence in our migration programme. We are an immigrant country and a successful immigration programme requires that it operate with integrity.
While this milestone recognises the progress that we have made, the Government remains resolute in our determination to stop the boats.

A bush hideaway has become the focus of a counterterrorism investigation amid fears it was used by Khaled Sharrouf

Yoni Bashan State Political Reporter
The Sunday Telegraph

  • 400 rounds were fired in an hour
  • police allegedly found Khaled Sharrouf and associates at the property
  • officers seized four high-powered rifles at the scene
  • property is now focus of a multi-agency counterterrorism investigation

LAND owner is used to shooting parties spending the weekend at his remote property, Rockview. But there was something about the group who turned up in November last year that made him uneasy.

For a start there was the sheer amount of gunfire and style of shooting — 400 rounds fired in an hour by men lying on the ground in combat position.

The ground was covered “like a carpet” with spent ammunition, according to police.

Many of the bullets appeared to be aimed at a large tree, which authorities described as being “blistered” by bullets.

“They were on their guts shooting, like soldiers. It was very strange,” Mr Landry said. “They used, I think, 400 shots in an hour, one guy at a time. They were big guns as well.”

The booking was made under the name Jack. But when police arrived they allegedly found Khaled Sharrouf, convicted of plotting a terror attack in Sydney as one of the “terror nine”, his associate Omar Ammouche, a known counterintelligence target, an unnamed construction industry identity and an eight-year-old boy.

Officers seized four high-powered rifles at the scene.

Now the property at Glen Davis, near Lithgow, has become the focus of a multi-agency counterterrorism investigation amid fears it was used as a training ground by Sharrouf, who is believed to be in Syria after slipping out of the country illegally on his brother’s passport.

According to court documents police were called to the property on Crown Station Rd about 6.50pm on November 9 after complaints about noise. They arrived to find Sharrouf holding the butt of a CZ-brand bolt-action rifle with a scope attachment, against his right shoulder.

“The accused turned towards police and immediately placed the firearm on the ground upon seeing police. There was a large amount of spent ammunition on the ground,” the police statement of facts said.

“They were on their guts shooting, like soldiers. It was very strange,” Mr Landry said. “They used, I think, 400 shots in an hour, one guy at a time. They were big guns as well.”Michael Landry
Sharrouf told police he did not have a firearms license or permit, and claimed he did not fire the gun.

Ammouche was standing two metres away and said: “I thought if I was licensed I could supervise him, but he wasn’t shooting anyway and I was only sighting in.”

Police later said two bullets were found in the gun’s magazine.

Sharrouf was charged and convicted of possessing an unauthorised firearm. Ammouche is still before the courts for allowing an unauthorised person to possess a firearm.

ppppppppppppppp

The seized weapons were all licensed to Sydney man Ibrahim Massri, who loaned them to Ammouche, a licensed shooter whose permit is now facing suspension.

Sharrouf is facing two further charges, laid by the NSW Counter Terrorism Command, for using his brother’s passport to leave Australia 10 days after the firearms charge was laid.

The Sunday Telegraph revealed last week how Sharrouf, 31, boarded a flight for Kuala Lumpur from Sydney on December 6, less than a month after the trip to Glen Davis. His wife, Tara Nettleton — an Anglo-Australian who converted to Islam — has also left the country, authorities confirmed.

It is understood Mostafa Sharrouf, whose passport was used, has vigorously denied providing or assisting his brother to leave the country and had no knowledge of the event until notified by police.

"The accused turned towards police and immediately placed the firearm on the ground upon seeing police. There was a large amount of spent ammunition on the ground."police report
The booking, made for two nights from November 8, is not the first time the name Jack was used to book the cabins. There were two previous bookings at the 160 acre property, with each of the men paying $50 each per night.

Mr Landry said it was the first time he had seen Sharrouf at the farm.

Ammouche’s presence remains of deep interest to investigators. He was last year filmed by Channel Seven spitting on and assaulting Muslim community leader Jamal Daoud over a disagreement about Syria. A magistrate later ruled he was a “good community member and community builder”.

Similar remote locations in far western NSW were used by the “Terror Nine” — of which Ammouche is not a member — during investigations by Operation Pendennis to test and train with weapons.

Two wives, but only one law: Iraqi bigamist Younus Taher Jaaz Al Saadi broke all the rules

Ben McClellan and Alicia Wood
The Daily Telegraph
February 14,2014

AN Iraqi bigamist duped a Sydney woman into marriage to get an Australian visa — then flew to Iraq a month later to marry a second wife, a tribunal has found.

Samira Asswad, a western Sydney grandmother, married Younus Taher Jaaz Al Saadi, 38 in December 2008, after meeting him through neighbours.

After Mr Al Saadi applied for and received a spousal visa in July 2009, he left almost immediately for Iraq when he married a second wife, Nihal Al-Sharmati and had a child with her.

When Ms Al-Sharmati applied for an Australian visa as Mr Al Saadi’s wife, the Department of Immigration notified the Migration Review Tribunal who cancelled his visa.

Mr Al Saadi argued he should be allowed to stay because having two wives was part of his culture.

During their three-year marriage, Mr Al Saadi stayed at Ms Asswad’s townhouse for only a few months in total, telling her he had to constantly return to Iraq for five to six months at a time for “work”.

The tribunal found that Mr Al Saadi separated from Ms Asswad three weeks after he was granted a permanent visa, and divorced her in August 2012.

In the same month he was granted a permanent visa as Ms Asswad’s spouse, his other wife, Ms Al- Shamarti, was giving birth to his son.

“I bring him to Australia for me,” Ms Asswad said. “When he get the permanent visa straight away he went from this house.”

The tribunal ruled that Mr Al Saadi’s actions “show deliberate and significant disregard for Australia’s immigration laws”.

“The definition of the ‘spouse’ in the migration legislation is quite unambiguous and requires an exclusive relationship.”

NSW Minister for Women Pru Goward said the case was a reminder of the implications of not abiding by the law.

“Many people want to come to Australia to enjoy our great way of life, and what everybody needs to understand that firstly, we have a strong commitment to the rights of girls and women, and secondly that there is only one law people have to abide by and that’s Australian law,” Ms Goward said.

HUNDREDS of under age teenagers are living in unregistered de facto marriages in NSW — and pressure is mounting for state and federal authorities to investigate illegal unions.

The statistics came as NSW Women’s Minister Pru Goward urged anyone with information on girls under the age of consent being married off to older men to report such incidents. In NSW, three children aged 14, 30 children aged 15, 152 aged 16 and 483 aged 17 identified themselves as living in a de facto marriage in the 2011 census.

Adolescent psychologist Dr Michael Carr-Gregg warned last night that de facto relationships involving teenage girls were detrimental to their psychological health.

“There’s an increased likelihood of these young people developing anxiety and mood disorders or depression,” he said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these kids become potentially suicidal.”

In Blacktown, there were seven 16-year-olds and 16 children aged 17 who identified themselves as living in a de facto marriage.

In Penrith, six 15-year-olds, five 16-year-olds and 12 17-year-olds said they were in a de facto marriage.

In regional areas, the problem is more stark. In Wyong, Wollongong and Dubbo, six 15-year-olds in each local government area said they were in de facto marriages, and all three 14-year-olds who said they were de facto marriages live in Young.

The figures come to light amid intense public outrage at the arrest of a 26-year-old man over child sex allegations after his alleged marriage to a 12-year-old girl.

Eman Sharobeem from the Immigrant Women’s Health Service said hundreds of children as young as 11 were being sent overseas to be married after being “shopped” on Facebook. “It’s far more prevalent and well-known than people think,” she said.

Dr Sharobeem said not enough was being done to build awareness about under age marriage. “Regulation needs to be put in place within different religions,” she said. “If we are talking about Australian law, every marriage should be under Australian law,”

“There needs to be proper, culturally appropriate, education and awareness-raising. And we should make it as compulsory as we can.”

Ms Goward has written to federal counterpart Michaelia Cash to push for national awareness campaigns on underage and forced marriage.
“Every young girl in NSW should have the opportunity to make her own choices about her future, and under age marriage is completely unacceptable,” Ms Goward said.
“It doesn’t matter if the arrangement is religious or cultural, if the law in this state says it is illegal, parents and the community need to accept that and abide by it.
“We can only investigate a case if it is reported, so I encourage anyone aware of girls under the age of consent being married off to older men to report it to authorities so it can be investigated.”
Opposition community services spokeswoman Linda Burney said the government should investigate how widespread under age marriage is.“We seemingly don’t have a picture of how widespread this type of behaviour is,” she said. Ms Burney said

The legal marrying age in Australia is 18 unless a court approves a union where one party is aged between 16 and 18.
GIRL, 14, FORCED INTO ABUSIVE MARRIAGE Exclusive Padraic Murphy
A 14-YEAR-OLD girl was forced into an Islamic marriage with a western Sydney drug gang member who raped and beat her and later physically abused their daughter.
Details of the now 25-year old victim’s ordeal surfaced in the Federal Circuit Court where the victim was fighting to have the man banned from seeing their daughter.
So appalling was the woman's life of abuse, which included claims that her father told her she could only leave her marriage “in a coffin”, that Judge Joseph Harman made an unprecedented public appeal in his judgment for authorities to act.
“Upon publication of these reasons and should any agency wish to investigate matters ... they are in a position to make application to the court for leave to inspect the file and obtain material,” he said.
That would include the child dispute conference memo in which an admission is made by the father in the following terms: “The father admitted that he knew at the time of the Islamic marriage to the mother that she was 14 years of age.”
The memo noted the man said he was 18 at the time, but the victim claimed he was 21.
“The mother alleged that the father had sexually assaulted her after they were married, which the father denied,” said Judge Harman.
It was also alleged the man, who has a string of violence convictions, stopped the victim from attending high school or watching television, and wanted her to become a “soldier of Islam”, forcing her to watch snuff DVDs of people being brutally slaughtered.
When she complained to her parents about the rapes and violence, her father threatened to disown her. “So what if he raped you? So what if he bashed you?” the father said, according to court documents.
“The only way you can come back to me is in a coffin to pray on you.”
The girl also told a teacher at her high school about both her under age marriage and the abuse, but no action was taken.

It is believed no authority has asked to inspect the file since Judge Harman’s appeal, leading to fears both the victim’s family and her “husband” could escape punishment.
