Sydney's Occupied Territories: NSW Police smash organised Assyrian crime gang following raids in Sydney's Occupied Territories

Police smash organised Assyrian crime gang DLSTHR with series of raids across Sydney

Simon Black
The Daily Telegraph
September 23,2013

DRUGS, cash, replica guns a pill-press and a luxury Lotus sports car have been seized in raids aimed at "destroying" an organised crime gang believed to be behind more than a dozen public shootings.

More than 341 police executed 22 raids in a blitz on the Assyrian crime gang DLASTHR this morning.

The massive police operation involved local and state police along with the NSW Crime Commission and saw 18 simultaneous raids and saw officers arrest 13 men and seize 8kg of cannabis, $25,000 in cash, a pill-press, four jetskis, a boat, and an expensive luxury Lotus Sprite sports car.

The DLASTHR originated as an offshoot of the Assyrian Kings - the crime group involved in the brutal murder of off-duty police officer David Carty in 1997 - partially scalping him and slicing off his nose and ear in a frenzied attack only blocks from Fairfield police station.

"This group is a violent, organised gang which has been involved in public-place shootings, vicious assaults, drug dealing and extortion," NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said. "The NSW police force will not rest until we have put every single one of them behind bars."

The raids are the product of an 18-month joint investigation by Strike Force Evesson, involving investigators from the Fairfield Local Area Command and the NSW Crime Commission.

Today's operation began at 6am, when dozens of specialist police, two "Bearcat" armoured vehicles and investigators from Fairfield Local Area Command stormed a semirural property at Rossmore.

Next-door neighbour Linda said she was woken up by a police siren and looked outside to see the raid in full swing.

"We heard a bang and looked outside to see these two big armoured hummer-things with guys hanging off them holding guns," she said. "There was an alarm going and someone on a megaphone saying 'this is a police raid'."

"There were dogs, guns, and police everywhere. It's a pretty scary thing."

Another local resident, who requested not to be named, said there were frequently "strange cars" going in and out of the property.

"You don't want to get involved," she said. "It's usually very quiet around here but you see lots of random people and cars in that place."

At the scene detectives were quizzing a number of men on the front porch of the residential home on Bellfield Ave while other officers scoured the property behind.

Plainclothes police left the property with a number of brown paper evidence bags while four carloads of officers search the property's nearly two dozen greenhouses.

Specialist police divers scoured a nearby dam for evidence and four jetskis and a boat were confiscated.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at the property and charged with a range of offenses relating to drug supply and directing the activities of a criminal group.

Another 12 men were arrested and were charged with a range of offences including grievous bodily harm, drug supply and participate in a criminal group.

Despite being charged with offences relating to recruiting and directing a criminal group it is unclear if the man arrested at Rossmore was the acting leader of the gang with Assistant Commissioner Frank Mennilli stating the group didn't have a "clear leader" and had activities which were "a little bit more than just domestic".

In total, 22 search warrants were executed across Sydney's southwest at properties in Fairfield, Bonnyrigg, Horningsea Park, Hinchinbrook, Hoxton Park, Campbelltown, Wetherill Park, Liverpool, Warwick Farm, Cartwright, Smithfield, Greenfield Park, Bossley Park, Canley Vale and Rossmore.

The sites raided included a number of residential properties as well as two car dealerships and a real-estate office, the last ironically based directly opposite a police centre in Liverpool.

Commr Scipione, said the arrests were aimed at "destroying" the gang.

"We are confident today's arrests will seriously disrupt the business dealings of this particular syndicate," he said. "Nevertheless, our work is not yet done and we need the assistance of the local community to help us continue investigations into the rest of the gang."

"I can assure you that whenever we're here - they are in strife. We will be going after them."

Today's 13 arrests take the total number of people arrested by Strike Force Evesson to 33.

Assistant Commissioner Mennilli said NSW police expected to make more arrests with the group also believed to be responsible for a number of shootings in the area.

"We want to put this whole syndicate out of business," he said. "As well as allegedly being involved in drug supply, extortion and a number of assaults, we believe the DLASTHR has been involved in more than a dozen public place shootings in Sydney over the last two years."

Strike Force Evesson, which is supported by the NSW Crime Commission's Operation Ramsgate, will continue over the coming months.

Melbourne woman recounts horror attack in Kenyan shopping mall

Tom Minear
Herald Sun
September 22,2013

A MELBOURNE woman and her father have crawled out of a six-hour nightmare spent trapped in a Kenyan shopping centre under attack by terrorists.

Sarah Williamson, 23, the ex-girlfriend of Carlton skipper Marc Murphy, was visiting her father in Nairobi when they were caught up in the horrific siege that has seen 68 people killed and at least 200 wounded.

Her mother, Linda Williamson, said her daughter described the ordeal as "the most terrifying experience of her life".

The father and daughter sheltered in the back of a shop after they heard grenades go off as terrorists stormed the mall.

"She heard a grenade go off and then her father heard the next one and gunfire," Ms Williamson said.

"He knew they were under attack and they went into the back room."

They barricaded themselves with eight other people and tried to stay as quiet as possible.

Ms Williamson was also in Nairobi to study for upcoming law exams.

They managed to escape after six hours when armed forces secured the floor they were on.

"They crawled out along the perimeter of the building," her mum said.

Ms Williamson said her daughter was "so glad to be out" but her thoughts were with the other victims.

"She's doing really well, she's heading up to the hospital to donate some blood now," she said.

"She called me at about 2.30am because she didn't want me to wake up, see it on the news and panic and wonder where she was."

Ms Williamson said her daughter was due to stay in Kenya for another month and was still "planning to stay there for a bit".

Meanwhile, Sarah's sister, Amy, has cancelled media interviews this morning over concerns for hostages still in the mall.

Amy took to Facebook as a media pack gathered outside her house.

"Due to certain safety and protection issues of those involved and those still in the building I have cancelled my interviews. I have been instructed to make no further comments on the matter, so for now let's all just hope this ends soon and those hostages are returned to there (sic) loved ones ASAP," she wrote.

Australian lawyer Heidi Edwards was with a group who sheltered in a stairwell, having fled from a yoghurt shop when the shooting and explosions began.

The University of Melbourne law graduate, who is working as an associate at the Kenya Human Rights Commission before returning to Victoria next year, told the ABC that at first she did not realise the loud bang she had heard was a weapon. She then thought it might be a robbery, before she grasped how serious the predicament was.

"It sounded like scaffolding falling at first, I wasn't that concerned," Ms Edwards said.

"Then there was some panic going on and then another one (noise) in quick succession and then some gunshots."

She found an unlocked "staff only" door leading to a service exit and used the stairs to get down to the ground floor along with a group of people.

"Somebody else, not us, poked their head out and saw a gunman," Ms Edwards said.

"Somebody else, not us, poked their head out and saw a gunman," Ms Edwards said.

"There was no sirens which, for a Westerner was quite surprising - if that happened in Australia there would be sirens everywhere.

"It was just confusion more than anything else."

Former Australian resident Greg Aldous, a New Zealand national who now lives in Kenya, also escaped the frightening attack after cowering in a box.

Mr Aldous was buying groceries when there was a stampede of people shouting: "They're shooting, they're shooting!"

Fearing his white skin would make him a target, he hid for an hour before making a frantic escape through a car park.

"One of the snipers shot a dude about 10 metres away, just a guy, just a waiter," Mr Aldous said.

"We were petrified, it was a terrifying situation. They were coming in through the front, they were coming in through the back and we were just sitting ducks ... They are horrible people."

About 1000 shoppers were stranded in the mall when the terrorists struck.

Two French women and two Canadians, including a diplomat, are among the 59 dead.

Sydney's Occupied Territories Insurgent Watch : Muslim Thug and Welfare Parasite,Omar Halaby arrested AGAIN

Convicted Muslim rioter Omar Halaby clashes with police again, charged with using offensive language

Janet Fife - Yeomans
September 23,2013

THE rioter who smashed the windscreen of a police car with a milk crate has been arrested for using offensive language to police.

Omar Halaby, 19, also allegedly refused to allow a female police officer to take his fingerprints, telling her: "You can't make me do anything. It's against my religion to allow females to touch me."

Halaby earlier this year escaped with a 12-month good behaviour bond for his role in last September's Muslim riot in the Sydney CBD after his lawyer told magistrate Pat O'Shane that he suffered from learning and physical disabilities.

Police allege that at 4.40pm on Saturday, Halaby was the passenger in a white BMW which drove past a police operation as officers stopped vehicles in Bryant Street, Padstow.

It is alleged that he yelled out of the car window: "F … off dog c … s."

He was arrested and refused to provide his name or details and was taken to Bankstown police station where he allegedly "resisted violently" and refused to provide his fingerprints to a female officer.

Police called an Arabic-speaking male officer who took Halaby's fingerprints.

It is believed that Halaby was being investigated for collecting a $200-a-week pension while bragging on Facebook that he worked as a subcontractor on a construction site.

In January Halaby pleaded guilty to smashing the windscreen of a marked police car with a milk crate and assaulting a TV cameraman during last year's riot.

The court heard Halaby yelled Islamic slogans at the camera crew and pushed a cameraman during the protest. He paid $500 for the damage to the police car.

Just before his court appearance in January, he posted on Facebook: ``Having the time of my life at Downing Centre Local Court.'

"He has literacy issues, a short attention span, things to that effect,'' Legal Aid lawyer Sophie Edin told the court at the time. That's what happens when your Mother and Father are your older brother and sister.

Halaby was given police bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court on October 9 charged with using offensive language and resisting arrest.

Connie Hedegaard, IPCC Climate change LOON claims they are right even if they are wrong.

EU policy on climate change is right even if science was wrong, says commissioner Connie Hedegaard
Regardless of whether or not scientists are wrong on global warming, the European Union is pursuing the correct energy policies even if they lead to higher prices, Europe’s climate commissioner has said.

Telegraph.co.uk

"Let's say that science, some decades from now, said 'we were wrong, it was not about climate', would it not in any case have been good to do many of things you have to do in order to combat climate change?."

IPCC's LOON in Residence Connie Hedegaard

Connie Hedegaard's comments come as the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is expected to admit that previous scientific predictions for global warming and the effects of carbon emissions have been proved to be inaccurate.
In an interview with the Telegraph, Europe's most senior climate change  official argued that the current policies are the correct ones because a growing world population will put pressure on energy supplies regardless of the rate of global warming.
"I personally have a very pragmatic view.
"Say that 30 years from now, science came back and said, 'wow, we were mistaken then now we have some new information so we think it is something else'. In a world with nine billion people, even 10 billion at the middle of this century, where literally billions of global citizens will still have to get out of poverty and enter the consuming middle classes, don't you think that anyway it makes a lot of sense to get more energy and resource efficient," she said.
"Let's say that science, some decades from now, said 'we were wrong, it was not about climate', would it not in any case have been good to do many of things you have to do in order to combat climate change?."

The Danish commissioner also rejected public complaints over increases in electricity prices to subsidise renewable energies, such as wind farms, as unrealistic because, she said, increased competition over diminishing energy resources such as oil and gas will lead to higher bills.
"I believe that in a world with still more people, wanting still more growth for good reasons, the demand for energy, raw materials and resources will increase and so, over time so, over time, will the prices," she said.
"I think we have to realise that in the world of the 21st century for us to have the cheapest possible energy is not the answer."
Mrs Hedegaard, and the European Commission, have not changed their position that the science that is currently used to justify EU climate change policy is "over 90 per cent" certain that global warming exists and that it is manmade.
However, EU and other policymakers are worried that the IPCC's forthcoming admission, expected on Sep 27, that previous forecasts are wrong will damage the legitimacy of climate change policies, such as levies and fuel taxes on consumers to fund renewable energy.
Leaked IPCC reports, reviewing forecasts made in 2007, have called into question how much climate change has taken place by concluding that, even with a doubling of carbon emissions from 1990 levels, the global temperature has risen little or more slowly than predicted over the last 10-20 years.
In the process of defending controversial policies, the EU has often linked extreme weather events to global warming after the IPCC said six years ago that it was more than 50 per cent sure that hurricanes, flooding and droughts were being caused by manmade global warming. That figure is expected to be revised down to less than a 21 per cent certainty that natural disasters are caused by climate change.
Bjorn Lomborg, a professor at the Copenhagen business school and the author of Cool it, a book arguing that too much climate change policy is based on scaremongering, accused the commissioner of being "both callous and wrong".
"EU climate policies have directly increased energy costs and caused more energy poverty - 300,000 households in Germany lost their power last year because they couldn't pay the bills, and millions are energy poor in the UK. EU climate policies will cost £174 billion annually by 2020, the EU commissioner seems to suggest wasting £174 billion is no problem," he said.

"To the extent the EU climate policies have affected the world, it has made energy more costly, reduced growth and consigned more people to poverty."
As part of measures aimed at reducing carbon emissions by 20 per cent below the levels of 1990 by the end of decade, the EU has agreed a binding target requiring that 20 per cent of energy must come from renewable sources, such as wind power, by 2020.
The Government's own estimates of meeting the EU target are a cost increase of 33 per cent to the average electricity price paid by households in 2020.  New EU levies on carbon emissions from industry are estimated to cost the British economy £700 million, a bill that is passed on to the consumer via higher prices.
Nigel Farage, the leader of Ukip, called on both the EU and Britain to scrap policies that have been based on scientific predictions that have proved to be wrong.
"As facts change, so must policy. The EU must change course and in the UK the Climate Change act must be thrown on the scrap heap of mistaken ideas," he said.
"A higher world population means we should stop subsidising inefficient and expensive wind turbines and instead make better use of fracking, nuclear energy and tidal power."

Why should Fady Taiba be on Life Support ?

The following story is about a good man, who's only crime was to work his arse hole out, so as to further the advancement of his wife and children's future, then some drunk piss head took a cheap shot and felled him.
That cowardly punch took from this man everything he lived and worked for.
Fady's wife Daniell and their children represent what Australia is all about, self reliance hard work and the sacrosancy of the family.
Fady's assailant is what Australia is not about, despite the progressive Lefts promotion of all behaviours belief's are equal.

Aussie News and Views is so sick and tired of reading of these stories, some innocent Australian bashed senseless by some drug fucked piss head via a cowardly sucker punch out of no where.

If Fady Taiba's accused offers a defence of intoxication, then in my opinion he should have added to his sentence extra punishments for been intoxicated whilst assaulting Fady Taiba.
I am one pissed off Australian.
Yes I have a personal interest here, a family member was on more than one occasion similarly assaulted by some Drug Fucked Piss Heads 'just for the fun of it"

Prayers please  for Fady Taiba and his Family

King-hit bouncer Fady Taiba squeezes wife Danielle's hand

Clemntine Cuneo
The Daily Telegraph
September 14,2013

A GENTLE squeeze of the hand was the tonic Danielle Taiba needed to feel from her critically ill husband to know he was fighting to stay alive.

Father-of-four Fady Taiba, 43, has been in a coma for the past week, after allegedly being king hit while working as a bouncer outside a Sydney nightclub.

Each day, Mrs Taiba has sat at his bedside in St Vincent's Hospital's intensive care unit, holding his hand, chatting to him and begging that he pull through.

On Thursday night, a gentle squeeze from her husband of 20-years, was the assurance and encouragement she and their children needed.

PUNCH ROBBED DAD FADY OF A PROUD MOMENT

"My baby squeezed my hand," an emotional Mrs Taiba said. "It's going to be OK, I know it is."

The couple's eldest son Adam, 17, who should be competing in a national swimming competition in Adelaide this week but was too distraught to go, then grabbed his dad's hand to feel it for himself.

"It's reassuring Dad's there," Adam said.

FAMILY OF ACCUSED BASHER FINDS $1 MILLION FOR BAIL

Until then, there had been little response from Mr Taiba, something doctors have told the family is normal for a person in a medically induced coma.

Mr Taiba had part of his skull removed to relieve the bleeding and the pressure on his brain, when he was rushed to hospital, last Friday night.

Doctors have no idea as to the extent of Mr Taiba's injuries, until they slowly wake him from the coma when his condition allows.

"They're telling us that around day 10 they will try and wake him, but it depends on when the swelling goes down," his sister Tess said.

In the meantime, Tess said it's a waiting game.

"It's just devastating seeing him like that. His kids haven't been to school at all since this happened, they're too upset," she said.

"We are all trying to be positive, but you can't help but wonder what the future will be like for him."

Mr Taiba, a first aid instructor, was working a night shift as a security guard at Bar 333 in the CBD, when he was allegedly assaulted.

He took on the extra work to give as much as he could to his talented children, Tess said.

UBS banker James Longworth, 32, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was granted bail and will face court again on November 5.

Tony Abbott death threats spark federal investigation

Facebook page 'Tony Abbott should be assassinated' taken down and threat being investigated by detectives

Australian Associated Press
The Guardian
Thursday 12 September 2013

Federal detectives are assessing serious threats against senior Australian politicians after a webpage advocated the assassination of Tony Abbott.

The Man (Tony Abbott with Family) the Union GetUp funded Labor Green Loon Progressives want assassinated or burnt to death.

The page "Tony Abbott should be assassinated" appeared on Facebook this week after the Coalition won Saturday's federal election. Abbott is expected to be sworn in as prime minister next week.

That page and others including "Tony Abbott should just die" and "20,000 likes and I will assassinate Tony Abbott" have gathered a series of threatening comments and have been removed from the social network.

The Australian Federal Police would not confirm if those particular pages have formed part of an ongoing assessment of threats against senior politicians.

"The AFP treats reports of threats against members of parliament and high office holders seriously and investigates complaints where appropriate," a spokesman said.

"Commentary of this nature can occur in a range of media forums, often anonymously, and where these comments are brought to the attention of the AFP an assessment is made. The AFP is currently assessing a number of Facebook pages and comments. While these processes are under way it is not appropriate for the AFP to comment further."

Facebook was not able to confirm if it removed the pages. Content is removed from its site for a variety of reasons, including pages relating to "actionable threats of violence", it said.

"Our Statement of Rights and Responsibilities forbids content that includes pornography, bullying and actionable threats of violence and we will remove any content reported to us that violates these policies," a Facebook spokesperson told AAP.

The threats against Abbott have sparked anger on other social network sites. "This needs to be looked into. It should be regarded as serious," one person wrote on Twitter.

"This is in poor taste, even for the unhinged," another added.

Adelaide-based lawyer Alex Ward says it is illegal to use telecommunications networks or carriage services to make threats or hoax threats. But he said Australian law has struggled to keep pace with advances in technology.

"It's illegal to do it but people just don't seem to know that's the law," Ward told Adelaide radio station Five AA. "It's very hard to find the law on this and this is one part where society has gone just a million miles ahead of the laws very ponderously keeping up."

Abbott's office has been asked for comment.

Minister Michael Gallacher's ire over fire gaffe

The Daily Telegraph
September 12,2013

NSW emergency services minister Michael Gallacher has hit out at a former fire union boss who said Tony Abbott's electorate of Warringah should burn down.

After Tuesday's bushfires, former Fire Brigade Employees Union president Darryl Snow tweeted: "I nominate the electorate of Warringah to burn down first.''

Mr Gallacher said the comment was immature and dangerous.

"The worst thing about the internet age is that the public has to endure comments from people like this. The best thing we can do is pretend they don't exist,'' Mr Gallacher said.

"If this individual's perverse dream were to come true, it would be his own former fire fighting colleagues putting their lives at risk putting this fire out.''

NSW FBEU secretary Jim Casey said Mr Snow's views did not reflect those of the union.

''Darryl Snow is a valued former official of the FBEU. As he no longer holds a position with the union, he is unable to speak on its behalf, so any comments made on Twitter or elsewhere are clearly the personal views of a private individual,'' Mr Casey said.
